What do you enjoy the most about working at The Duck Store?

I enjoy being able to have money. I also enjoy getting to work with the many friends I've made here over the last two years.

What are you studying and what degree will you be receiving?

I'm currently studying Psychology with a minor in Sociology. I will be receiving a Bachelors of Science.

What are your post-graduation plans?

Post graduation I'm leaving somewhat open ended. I want to apply to grad school, but I'm going to give myself a break to try new things (such as moving somewhere and starting from scratch). However, if after that time, the interest is still there I'll go back to hopefully get a doctorate in Psychiatry.

What are your career aspirations/goals?

I'm not entirely sure what my aspirations are. Right now social/clinical work is calling my name. Luckily I have so much time to try new avenues and jobs until I find the career for me.

What are some experiences, skills and/or lessons learned while working for The Duck Store you'll take with you into your career?

I learned to be more patient with difficult people. As anyone who has worked in a service type job will tell you, customers (or even coworkers) can be difficult to handle at times. So keeping a cool head during heated moments is certainly something I've gotten better at during my time here.

What will you miss most about campus?

The Panda Express. The library was also pretty cool; I spent a lot of time there.

My career aspirations are to work for a sports product brand, ideally in a consumer-facing role. What are some experiences, skills and/or lessons learned while working for The Duck Store you'll take with you into your career?

While serving on the board, the biggest takeaway is to see how a non-profit business works and how they work with the University of Oregon to bring value to students and the surrounding community. I also learned how important it is to understand the financials of how a business operates and the policies it has regarding improving the business.

What will you miss most about campus?

The thing I will miss most about campus is the community surrounding the Oregon Ducks. Coming from a small undergrad school, I did not expect the amount of community centered around the Oregon Ducks. What do you enjoy the most about working at The Duck Store?

I love that I have a new project everyday! I work best in fast paced environments with lots of little tasks and this job checks off those boxes. Aside from that, collaborating with the ambassadors and working on photoshoots with them has been a lot of fun.

What are you studying and what degree will you be receiving?

I'm studying Art and Technology and Economics and will be receiving a B.S. from the College of Design in Art and Technology.

What are your post-graduation plans?

I'm hoping to live and work abroad for the next year! I would love to continue working in the social media/ photography spaces and see where that takes me. I enjoy traveling and I'm excited to just put myself out there in the world and take the opportunities that come my way.

What are your career aspirations/goals?

My biggest goal is just to stay open to any and all creative possibilities and let things play out how they're supposed to. I know I love taking photos, working with a team, seeing new places, and being presented with new and interesting tasks everyday. I'm excited to continue to refine my creative style and express it through the mediums that I enjoy working with. Also it would be cool to get a picture or two in a major publication :)

What are some experiences, skills and/or lessons learned while working for The Duck Store you'll take with you into your career?

I've learned a lot about how to represent a brand through social media marketing and the processes behind that. For example, taking information that I know about our target markets and using that as a basis for then coming up with a creative way to reach them. I really enjoy this type of detective work and this position has allowed me to practice it to where its becoming more and more intuitive for me. Wherever my career takes me I know that marketing will likely be a big part of it, and The Duck Store has been a great place to get to know the field!

What is your favorite club, student organization, or activity you were involved with as a student?

It's a tie between the Daily Emerald and Align Mag! I participated in both as a photographer and learned so much about my own creative style as well as working with a team to accomplish a common goal. Align has allowed me to totally run wild with my imagination and work on big editorial shoots alongside talented women. The Daily Emerald has let me explore the photojournalism field and helped me learn how to work in a creative style while also telling a story. I have loved getting to know more about the University of Oregon and the greater Eugene community through that lens.

What will you miss most about campus?

Its cliche but the people. Its a great feeling to know someone wherever you go throughout your day. I love having those run ins and catch ups and being able to make spur of the moment plans. I'll miss the community that I've formed here and the spaces I've had access to that allowed for friendships to build quickly.
